Jam Scanner ("we," "us") is a live-music discovery service that recommends nearby shows based on your music taste. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Jam Scanner you agree to this policy.

What we collect

Account info: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier.
Your taste profile: the artists, genres, energy and venue-size preferences you enter.
Search inputs: the ZIP code, date range, and radius you enter to find shows. If you tap "Use my location," your browser shares your approximate coordinates once so we can resolve them to the nearest ZIP code. We use that ZIP to search; we do not store your GPS coordinates or track your location.
Basic technical data: standard request/usage and device information, and browser local storage we use to keep you signed in and to remember your profile if you're not signed in.

How we use it

To match you with shows and explain why each fits your taste.
To look up artist genres and popularity that help rank shows.
To save and sync your profile across devices when you sign in.
To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.

Where your data is stored

We store your data in one place: Supabase, our database and authentication provider, which holds your account (email, name) and your saved taste profile. Your browser also keeps your sign-in session on your own device. Our backend is stateless: it looks up and ranks shows for each search and does not store your searches or profile.

We share data with the providers below only to operate Jam Scanner, each under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers above as needed to run Jam Scanner, and where required by law. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that can't reasonably identify you.

Retention & deletion

We keep your profile until you delete it or ask us to remove your account. To request access to or deletion of your data, email us at support@jamscanner.com.

Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your profile. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

Your choices & rights

You can review or edit your profile in the app, sign out, or request deletion at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.

Children

Jam Scanner isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves, for example, if we add paid plans, saved shows, advertising, or affiliate/referral links. We'll revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
